Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have played out a goalless first half at White Hart Lane in Jurgen Klopp's Premier League debut as manager of the Anfield club.
After a fiery opening in North London, Liverpool almost found themselves in front when Divock Origi got on the end of Emre Can's flick-on, before seeing his effort come back off the crossbar.
Klopp's charges continued to show some positive invention away from home, and they had another decent chance soon after when Adam Lallana shot tamely at a thankful Hugo Lloris.
Spurs came back into the game and they might have gone in front had Simon Mignolet not moved well to deny Clinton Njie's effort, who linked up positively with Harry Kane.
The hosts continued to build from that chance and they were soon wasteful once more, when Dele Alli reacted quickest from a Kane chance, only to be thwarted by a memorable block from Mamadou Sakho.
Mauricio Pochettino's charges arguably finished the half as the stronger side, and they might have just stolen the lead had Njie not seen his dipping shot fly over the crossbar from the edge of the box.
