Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

:Headline: Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sports Mole

Seeking a return to winning ways in the Premier League following last weekend's infuriating beating, Liverpool travel to the South Coast to meet Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's nine men lost their unbeaten record in gut-wrenching circumstances to Tottenham Hotspur last time out, having seen a Luis Diaz goal incorrectly disallowed for offside.

However, the Reds got back on track with a 2-0 Europa League Group E win over Union SG on Thursday, where strikes from Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota sealed the deal.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Brighton, who fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Marseille in their most recent Europa League tie.

Cody Gakpo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Everton)

Straight after levelling the match against Tottenham, Cody Gakpo went down clutching his knee - having been caught from behind by Destiny Udogie - and was forced to miss Thursday's success over Union SG. Earlier reports claiming that the Dutchman is set to miss several weeks were wide of the mark, but he will remain absent for Sunday's trip to the Amex.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Regular cup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was a late withdrawal from Thursday's game due to a knee injury of his own sustained in training - which required 12 stitches - and the Republic of Ireland international will spend a number of weeks recovering.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Everton)

Thiago Alcantara has spent half a year in the treatment room with a hip injury, and his return to action has been delayed due to yet another setback, which will keep him out of Sunday's game.

Stefan Bajcetic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Everton)

Stefan Bajcetic made his long-awaited return from a major adductor injury last month, but he is now being plagued by a calf issue and is also targeting the Merseyside derby with Everton on October 21 as a possible comeback date.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Curtis Jones

Return date: October 26 (vs. Toulouse)

Curtis Jones was the first of two Liverpool players to take the walk of shame at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having caught Yves Bissouma on the upper ankle with his studs as both men went for the ball, and he will begin a three-game domestic ban here after the Reds failed with an appeal.

Diogo Jota

Return date: October 21 (vs. Everton)

Diogo Jota - who replaced the stricken Gakpo last weekend - was sent off for two yellow card-worthy tackles on Udogie during the Reds' first defeat of the season, and the Portuguese attacker has a one-game suspension to serve at the Amex. body check tags ::
