Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

:Headline: Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Burnley at Turf Moor.
Sports Mole

Liverpool will look to ensure that they take full advantage of Alisson Becker's remarkable 95th-minute winner at The Hawthorns when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor in their penultimate game of the season on Wednesday.

Alisson became the most unlikely goalscoring saviour for Liverpool's top-four chances when he rose to head Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner home on Sunday, wrapping up a crucial 2-1 win for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Liverpool do still realistically need two more wins to give themselves the best chance of playing Champions League football next season, but they will have to do so with a severely injury-depleted squad.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of their latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Diogo Jota

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Liverpool's injury issues have barely relented throughout the course of the season, and Klopp confirmed that that would be the case right until the very end of the campaign as Diogo Jota has been ruled out in all likelihood for the rest of 2020-21 due to a foot injury he sustained against Manchester United.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Burnley)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was left out of the squad to face West Brom due to illness, but he has now recovered and should be in contention for Wednesday's visit to Turf Moor.

Jordan Henderson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Captain Jordan Henderson will also miss the remainder of the season as he continues to recover from a groin injury, although Klopp suggested that the midfielder could still be fit in time for the European Championship this summer.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Joel Matip has been absent since January and will not feature again this season, adding to Liverpool's centre-back woes.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Klopp provided a positive injury update on Joe Gomez last month, but the England international will not be back in time for Liverpool's final two games after suffering a serious knee injury last year.

Virgil van Dijk

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Virgil van Dijk has been Liverpool's highest-profile long-term absentee this season and the Dutchman will not only miss the rest of the league campaign, but also Euro 2020 as he recovers from an ACL injury.

Ozan Kabak

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: Unknown

After losing the three first-team centre-backs they began the season with, Liverpool went and signed Ozan Kabak on loan. However, he has now been ruled out of the closing stages of the campaign, meaning that he may well have already played his final game for the club.

James Milner

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Burnley)

James Milner fell short of being ready in time for Sunday's match, but the veteran midfielder returned to training on Tuesday and therefore has an outside chance of being involved on Wednesday.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: May 23 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Naby Keita has not yet returned to training after his latest injury setback, meaning that Wednesday's match will come too soon for him.

Ben Davies

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: Unknown

Liverpool's other January centre-back reinforcement joins Kabak on the sidelines, with Ben Davies yet to make his debut for the club and now seemingly likely to miss the final two games of the season.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this game.
