Ben Woodburn is reportedly returning to Liverpool after suffering a fractured metatarsal at the weekend while on loan at Oxford United.
The Welsh international picked up the injury during Oxford's 2-2 draw with Accrington Stanley and he is expected to undergo a minor operation to correct the fracture, which would rule him out for around 12 weeks.
According to the Evening Standard, Woodburn is expected to return to Liverpool to have the procedure and then complete his rehabilitation programme with the club at Melwood.
The midfielder became the Reds' youngest-ever goalscorer in a League Cup game with Leeds United in November 2016, but he has since found first-team opportunities at Anfield limited.
Woodburn had settled in well at Karl Robinson's Oxford though, scoring once in 13 appearances in all competitions.
