Liverpool centre-forward Daniel Sturridge has reportedly returned to training.
The 26-year-old is yet to feature under the management of Jurgen Klopp because of a knee injury that he suffered ahead of the German's first game in charge against Tottenham Hotspur last month.
The problem was not expected to sideline Sturridge for too long, but a build-up of fluid around the joint has so far rendered the England international unavailable to Klopp.
According to widespread speculation, the former Manchester City and Chelsea frontman has taken a big step towards making a return to action thanks to his full participation in today's session at the club's Melwood training base.
However, it is believed that the weekend's clash against his former club City is likely to come too soon for the striker.
Due to a string of fitness complaints Sturridge has made just 15 Premier League appearances for the Reds since the end of the 2013-14 campaign.
