Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Roberto Firmino is out injured "for a while" due to a muscle problem.
The Brazilian forward was a surprise absence from the Liverpool squad for their 3-1 win over Norwich City at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Klopp told reporters after the game that the 30-year-old will be unavailable for some time, following a match that fellow forward Diogo Jota was also absent.
"Diogo was not available and we don't know how long it will take, Bobby has a muscle problem and is out for a while, so we have to keep the boys fit and create a spirit like the boys did today in the game," Klopp said after the win.
With Liverpool still competing in all four competitions in the coming weeks, the goalscoring burdens will fall on Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and January signing Luis Diaz, all of whom started and scored in the Premier League win over the Canaries.
Firmino last played at the San Siro on Wednesday evening, when Liverpool defeated Inter Milan 2-0 in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie in the Champions League, in which Firmino netted his side's first goal on the night. body check tags ::
