Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that his players did not receive enough protection in Wednesday's Premier League fixture at Burnley.
The Merseyside giants prevailed by a 3-1 scoreline to remain in second place in the standings, but an ankle injury to Joe Gomez has marred the club's success at Turf Moor.
Klopp was involved in an heated exchange with opposite number Sean Dyche during the match, and the German feels that Burnley's approach to the game contributed to Gomez's injury.
At a press conference, Klopp told reporters: "It was his ankle. Joe is injured and probably not only a little bit. We have to see, we don't know in the moment. We sent him home."
Gomez has made 18 appearances in the top flight and the Champions League this season.
