Liverpool reportedly face the prospect of being without defender Ibrahima Konate for their next four matches due to a hamstring injury.
The Merseyside giants have been plagued by fitness issues in several areas of the pitch during 2022-23, contributing to a disappointing run of results in the Premier League.
As well as key attackers being on the sidelines, Jurgen Klopp has also had to deal with the absence of Virgil van Dijk since January 2.
According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Liverpool's injury problems have worsened with Konate now due to spend a number of weeks on the sidelines.
The report says that the France international has sustained a hamstring injury and could miss as many as four fixtures.
Liverpool face a number of important matches with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, Newcastle United and Real Madrid the next teams on their schedule.
The 23-year-old has already missed a large chunk of the season through injury, making just four starts and one substitute outing in the Premier League.
While just another five appearances have come in other competitions, Klopp was reliant on Konate for the upcoming fixtures as Liverpool bid to shake off the disappointment of their FA Cup exit to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
Klopp may now have to reconsider his plans to allow Nat Phillips to go out on loan, although his options have been boosted by the return of Rhys Williams from a loan spell at Blackpool.
