Liverpool have confirmed that James Milner and Joe Gomez are in contention to feature in this evening's Audi Cup final against Atletico Madrid.
Milner has not played for Liverpool since picking up a quadriceps injury during the Premier League Asia Trophy final in Hong Kong last month, while Gomez suffered a minor knee injury during Saturday's 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
Both players sat out Liverpool's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday, but they could make their returns today against Atletico at the Allianz Arena.
Milner will be vying for a place at left-back alongside Andrew Robertson and Alberto Moreno, the latter of whom was among Liverpool's standout performers during the victory over Bayern.
Gomez, meanwhile, could be in contention to start the first game of the Premier League season as Nathaniel Clyne continues to struggle with a back injury.
