Dirk Kuyt has compared his Carling Cup medal to Olympic gold.
The Dutchman came on as a substitute and contributed a goal and a penalty kick during Liverpool's dramatic final with Championship club Cardiff City.
"I have a couple of medals, but at the end of the day, all that matters is trophies. And for me, this is my gold medal," Kuyt said.
"I lost the Champions League final and World Cup final but to win the Carling Cup is very special to me.
"People can speak about the Carling Cup as a Mickey Mouse trophy but, for me, it is the most important one."
Kuyt returns to Wembley tomorrow when Holland take on England in a friendly.
