Brendan Rodgers: 'Chelsea motivated by Bradford City defeat'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that Chelsea will be determined to put their defeat against Bradford City behind them when they meet in the League Cup.

Brendan Rodgers has said that Chelsea will be highly motivated to beat Liverpool in their League Cup semi-final, due to their shock FA Cup exit at the weekend.

The Blues were left stunned as Bradford City came from behind to claim a 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge, and Rodgers is wary of the impact that result will have ahead of their meeting on Tuesday evening.

"The result at the weekend doesn't help - they will have great motivation," BBC Sport quotes Rodgers as saying. "When you come off a game like that, you want to put it right.

"There is also that, in the back of your mind, even if you're up in the game - like they were, 2-0 - you can still lose the game. So I'm sure there'll be that wee bit of trepidation."

Liverpool and Chelsea shared a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their semi-final last week.
