Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has praised Luis Suarez after the striker returned to the side in tonight's Capital One Cup defeat against Manchester United.
The Uruguayan international was playing his first game for the club since completing a 10-match suspension that he received for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a Premier League match last season.
"I thought Luis Suarez was excellent. You could tell he'd been out for a long time as he tired at the end. But he's obviously a threat" BBC Sport quotes Rodgers as saying.
"I think adrenaline gets you over the line in the first game. But he's a fighter. He's so determined and will get ready for the weekend."
Liverpool visit Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday.
