The buildup to the summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Liverpool eye possible reinforcements.
Jurgen Klopp's league leaders have not been particularly busy during recent windows, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from linking them with additions.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.
Thursday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:
Jadon Sancho 'prefers Liverpool move to Manchester United'
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho would reportedly prefer to join Liverpool over Manchester United should the opportunity arise this summer.
United have long been linked with the prolific 20-year-old and have recently stepped up their pursuit of their number one transfer target after securing Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season.
Sancho is understood to be open to a move back to England, having joined Dortmund from Manchester City, but German publication Kicker reports that he would rather join reigning English, European and world champions Liverpool than United.
The England international believes that he would have a good chance of winning silverware in his first season should he move to Anfield, whereas at Old Trafford he would be joining a team in transition.
However, Liverpool are not expected to entertain the idea of bringing the winger to Merseyside this summer due to the cost involved, with Dortmund demanding a fee of £110m for Sancho.
The Reds have ruled out the possibility of spending significant money this summer and have already pulled out of a £54m deal to sign Timo Werner, who subsequently joined Chelsea.
Sancho has scored 20 goals and created 20 more in 44 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions this season.
Bayern Munich 'increase asking price for Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara'
Bayern Munich have reportedly increased their asking price for Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara by €10m (£9.1m).
Rumours linking the Premier League champions with a bid for Thiago gathered pace earlier this month, and the player himself is thought to be very keen on moving to Merseyside.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at Bayern next summer and has already rejected the offer of an extension, with senior officials at the club publicly confirming that he wants to leave.
However, Bayern's asking price was proving to be a stumbling block in negotiations, and Sky Germany reports that they have now upped their demands even further.
Liverpool were initially hopeful of striking a deal worth €20m (£18.1m) for the Spain international, but Bayern now want double that - €40m (£36.3m).
The hike in price is expected to rule Liverpool out of the running for the midfielder's signature, with the Reds unwilling to spend big money in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have also been credited with an interest in Thiago, who has made 36 appearances for Bayern across all competitions this season.
