Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Wednesday, September 16.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Liverpool eye possible reinforcements.

Jurgen Klopp's champions have not been particularly busy during recent windows, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from linking them with additions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Wednesday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester City join Kylian Mbappe race?

Manchester City are reportedly ready to make Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe their priority transfer target next summer.

In recent weeks, City were prepared to agree a big-money deal for Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, only for the Argentine to decide on seeing out the remainder of his contract at Camp Nou.

Although the 33-year-old could be available on a free transfer in 2021, it appears that City may be prepared to move on from the legendary attacker.

According to The Sun, the Premier League giants could use the money initially allocated towards a deal for Messi on World Cup winner Mbappe.

With less than two years left on his contract, it has been claimed that the France international may look to depart Parc des Princes next year.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old.

Report: Kylian Mbappe prefers Real Madrid to Liverpool, Manchester City

Real Madrid are the only club that superstar forward Kylian Mbappe will leave Paris Saint-Germain for, according to a report.

The France international is a long-term target for Madrid, who are believed to be preparing a big-money offer for next summer.

PSG are bracing themselves for a bidding war in a year's time, with Liverpool and Manchester City also being tipped to move for the World Cup winner.

Despite the Premier League interest, however, Spanish football journalist Josep Pedrerol claims that Mbappe is only currently interested in joining Madrid.

Mbappe supposedly dreams of playing under countryman Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu and is hopeful of being granted a move in the future.

A separate report suggests that PSG are working hard to convince Mbappe and attacking teammate Neymar to stay put in the French capital.
