Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has claimed that he is ready to prove his 'genius' after thanking the club's supporters for a banner in his honour.

Fans of the Anfield side recently unveiled a banner that read 'Nothing to declare except my genius' in Italian, in homage to Balotelli, and the former AC Milan forward thanked the supporters for their backing with a post on Instagram.

He wrote: "I have nothing to declare except my genious? Wow thanks to whoever did this. I know all of you expect more from me .. More gols expecially and more "genious" but give me time and I ll show is true."

Balotelli has scored one goal for the Reds so far following his £16m move from AC Milan in August.
