Tony Bellew has insisted that Everton still have the best goalkeeper in Merseyside, despite Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp paying a club-record fee for Roma keeper Alisson Becker.
Klopp splashed £66m of his summer budget on the Brazilian stopper as the Reds look to improve on their fourth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
Meanwhile, Everton's Jordan Pickford has recently been in the headlines for playing an instrumental role in England's journey to the semi-finals of the World Cup, and Bellew rates the 24-year-old more highly than Liverpool's new signing.
"I'd just like to say, I remember being laughed at by many Kopites (Liverpool fans) when Everton signed Jordan Pickford for £30m, saying we had just bought a relegated goalkeeper and all that," Bellew told talkSPORT.
"Well, you have just paid £66m and you've only got the second best goalkeeper on Merseyside!"
Klopp has already spent around £175m this summer, following the recent arrival of Alisson.
