Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has stood by his decision to verbally criticise his players at the weekend.
The Scot reacted angrily to his side's 3-1 loss to struggling Bolton Wanderers on Saturday evening.
Having had time to reflect on his words, Dalglish has insisted that he has no regrets.
"I think what was said had to be said," Dalglish told reporters.
"I don't think anyone can object to the fact that we never played anything like we're capable of."
Liverpool take on Manchester City at Anfield in the semi-final of the Carling Cup tomorrow evening.
