Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has suggested that coach Jurgen Klopp would be a roaring success on Merseyside if he gets the Liverpool job.
The Reds are expected to announce the German's appointment on Thursday after Brendan Rodgers was sacked shortly after Sunday's 1-1 draw at local rivals Everton.
Hummels, who was signed by Klopp for Dortmund in 2009, feels that his mentor is well equipped for success at Anfield after bringing two Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal crown to Signal Iduna Park.
"There is no doubt he is a fantastic coach, a great coach," Hummels, who was the 48-year-old's skipper at Dortmund, is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
"When people put their minds to the question about what he is going to do post Dortmund, then clubs like Liverpool had to enter the frame.
"He lives, breathes and thinks football day after day. He is a fantastic addition to any side and I will certainly keep my fingers crossed for the next step in his career."
On Wednesday, Sports Mole examined five immediate tasks for Klopp.
