Liverpool defender Martin Kelly has admitted that he is eager to feature more for the club this season.
After returning from a serious knee injury last summer, the 24-year-old made just eight appearances for the Reds during the 2013-14 campaign.
Kelly now hopes that he will be given a chance to impress in pre-season ahead of what he believes is a "massive" year ahead for him.
"I think in terms of confidence and feeling strong I'm definitely 100%, but in longer terms that takes games," he told the club's official website.
"You can't replicate that in training, so the more games I play, the more I'll get up to that peak fitness which is what I need this season – it's a massive season for me.
"I've been fit for a season now but I haven't had the games, so the run of games is vital for me this season and hopefully they'll come in this pre-season."
Kelly made his senior debut for Liverpool in 2008 after graduating from the club's youth academy.
