Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has revealed that he decided to sign a new deal at Anfield because he feels "loved" at the club.
The 34-year-old put pen to paper on a year-long deal in May after considering his options.
Numerous European clubs were keen to recruit Toure, but the Ivorian has insisted that it is "massive" for his career to be at Liverpool.
"Honestly, in the end the decision was really simple," Toure told the Liverpool Echo. "There were other offers but I couldn't leave one of the best clubs in the world.
"For me, to be able to be at Liverpool, playing for manager [Brendan Rodgers] and being part of this squad and playing for amazing fans, is massive. I really enjoy being here. I feel loved and that's important."
Liverpool will begin their Premier League campaign away to Stoke City on August 9.
