Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has insisted that it is still too early to look at the Premier League table, despite his side climbing up to second courtesy of a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough this evening.
Lallana scored twice and set up another as the Reds ran out comfortable winners at the Riverside, moving above Arsenal in the table following the Gunners' slip-up against Everton on Tuesday night.
The victory comes after picking up just one point from their last two games, and Lallana was pleased with his side's return to form.
"It was a very good night's work. It was a difficult start, we knew it was a tough place to come. But we came out in the second half brilliantly," he told reporters.
"We stuck at it and we're thoroughly pleased. We've dropped a couple of points so it was even more important to concentrate and win.
"It's still too early to look at the table, it's more about how we're playing. We needed to tweak a few things and we did that tonight."
Liverpool's next match comes against local rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday.
