Recent reports had claimed that the club's owners were considering Dalglish's position at Anfield following a season that saw them finish eighth in the Premier League table.

However, rumours this afternoon have claimed that Dalglish, who is travelling to Boston for talks with the owners, has decided to call it a day.

Liverpool have neither confirmed nor denied those stories, according to BBC Sport.
