Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has reportedly emerged as a shock target of Liverpool's American owners as they search for a new manager.
The Anfield club are currently managerless following the sacking of Kenny Dalglish last week, who was shown the door after a disappointing league campaign.
A host of names, including Brendan Rodgers and Frank de Boer, are said to have turned down the position already, but Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has agreed to have talks with the Reds.
Despite their interest in the Latics chief, Fenway Sports Group are apparently great admirers of Redknapp due to the style of football he has implemented at White Hart Lane, according to the London Evening Standard.
The 65-year-old had previously been expected to leave Spurs for England this summer before Roy Hodgson was appointed as Fabio Capello's successor.
