Fellow new signing Marko Grujic is ineligible having still not gained a work permit, but there is a place on the bench for Lazar Markovic, who has returned from a loan spell with Fenerbahce.
Nigerian midfielder Ovie Ejaria, 18, also makes his debut having not featured since joining the Reds in the summer of 2014.
The likes of Dejan Lovren, Roberto Firmino and Jon Flanagan also start, but Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner, Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson are all absent after representing England at Euro 2016.
