Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has responded to the suggestion that he could become Germany's next manager.

The 57-year-old is currently out of work after ending his nine-year stay as Liverpool manager at the end of last season.

Klopp oversaw a period of significant success at Anfield, leading the club to eight trophies, including the 2019-20 Premier League and the 2018-19 Champions League.

After expending significant energy during his time as Liverpool boss, Klopp indicated that he would take a sabbatical before he considered a time to management.

Despite Klopp's stance, he has seen his name linked with a number of jobs, including a managerial role in his native Germany.

Klopp responds to Germany rumours

Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann is currently in the post, having signed a deal until the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

DFB sports director Rudi Voller recently suggested that he wants Klopp to become Germany's next manager is Nagelsmann decides to return to club football in the future.

However, Klopp has distanced himself from the position at an event in Berlin where he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin

The former Liverpool manager said: "Everyone hopes that Julian Nagelsmann will do this for much, much longer than 2026.

"I would be reluctant to talk about football today because there is nothing to say. Rudi Voller is a very nice guy. He was put in the situation where he had to talk about it."

What about the England job?

Klopp has also been linked with the England manager's job, with the FA searching for a permanent successor to Girona.

In July, Klopp ruled out the prospect of becoming England's next manager insisting that it would be the"biggest loss of face" if he took the job.

Klopp's comments have not prevented him from being mentioned as a potential candidate alongside the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Eddie Howe.

However, it is now being reported that the FA has made no contact with either Klopp, Tuchel, Potter or Howe over the manager's position.

As it stands, Klopp looks to continue his sabbatical for the foreseeable future, but he is bound to have plenty of suitors if he decides to make a return to management. body check tags ::
