Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has played down fears that Emre Can suffered a serious injury in the club's 2-1 win over Preston North End on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was withdrawn in the early stages of the contest, but Rodgers has said that the summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen has suffered only "tightness in his calf".
"Young Emre was excellent; he showed some lovely touches on the ball," Rodgers told the club's official website.
"He's got power and pace. He just had a little bit of tightness in his calf, so as a precaution we took him off early on."
Rickie Lambert also made his Liverpool debut in the pre-season win.
