Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that he has done his job of improving the likes of Stewart Downing, Jose Enrique and Jordan Henderson.
The Northern Irishman, who moved to Anfield from Swansea City last summer, believes that the trio have stepped up a gear following an inconsistent period with the Reds last season.
"You look at Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Jose Enrique since the start of the season and we have added value back to them," Rodgers told the club's official website. "Absolutely.
"That is the job of the manager and the coach, as well as winning games. My job is to improve players in every aspect of their game. You have to work with the players you have and I have done that throughout my life."
Meanwhile, the Merseyside outfit are preparing to go head to head with fierce rivals Manchester United in the Premier League this Sunday.
