New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hailed the achievements of his predecessor Kenny Dalglish.
Dalglish was sacked in his second stint as Reds boss at the end of last season after finishing eighth in the table, despite winning the Carling Cup and reaching the FA Cup final. Rodgers has since replaced Dalglish as the helm but has admitted his admiration for the Kop hero.
"Kenny was an incredible man and still is," said Rodgers.
"He's someone that is the heartbeat of the city and the club.
"He is a man of class. How he has nursed that club and city through some really tragic moments has been phenomenal."
Rodgers took over as manager of the Anfield outfit on Friday.
