Roy Keane: 'Title race is over after Liverpool win'

Liverpool will win their first ever Premier League title this season, according to former Manchester United captain Roy Keane.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has claimed that the Premier League title race is "done" following Liverpool's 3-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds are now eight points clear of second-placed Leicester City and third-placed Chelsea, while they sit nine clear of City, who remain without a league victory at Anfield since 2003.

Keane has conceded that he is struggling to see where Jurgen Klopp's side will drop points in the coming months as the European Cup holders continue to impress.

"I'm not a betting man, but I think it's done. I'm intrigued when we talk about the demands on the modern footballer about trying to win titles. People say, 'it's not going to be easy... it's not supposed to be easy," Keane told Sky Sports News.

"If it was easy, everybody would be winning league titles. Very few people win league titles. It's meant to be tough, it's meant to be demanding.

"When you look at the fixtures they've got coming up, if you're in that Liverpool dressing room, you'd be thinking 'bring it on'. They've got great momentum. Can there be injuries? Of course, that's part of being part of a great club."

Keane, who is currently working as a pundit after leaving his role with Nottingham Forest earlier this year, won seven Premier League titles during his time with United.
