Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has revealed that he is looking to try to learn from Wayne Rooney on international duty for England.
The 19-year-old backed manager Roy Hodgson's decision to give the Manchester United striker the captaincy in the wake of Steven Gerrard's international retirement, and the youngster is eager to link up with the new skipper.
He told reporters: "Wayne Rooney has been playing at the top level for many years. I'm looking forward to learning more off him and putting it into my game.
"I've played wide for Liverpool and England, as a young player you have to adapt. I'm learning every day - hopefully I can keep improving.
"I don't really look at ages, I just try to play the game and do my best, I can learn a lot off the players here."
Sterling netted in Liverpool's 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
