Raheem Sterling believes that Liverpool can respond to their draw against West Bromwich Albion by picking up maximum points against Arsenal this weekend.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has insisted that he and his teammates will fight for victory against Arsenal after dropping points in their match against West Bromwich Albion.

The Merseyside outfit failed to build a four-point gap between themselves and Everton in the Premier League table on Sunday.

While the Reds still reside in fourth spot, their 1-1 draw against the Baggies at The Hawthorns has given them just a two-point lead on their Merseyside rivals.

Despite the result, Sterling is confident that he and his teammates can respond in their next game, which is against league leaders Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday.

"The whole team is disappointed not to get the three points against West Brom," Sterling told the club's official website. "The manager told us that we tried to play football and that's the most important thing.

"Hopefully we can cut the mistakes out of our game and be right up there at the end of the season. We'll just pick up and go again for the next game."

The Reds are eight points adrift of top spot.
