Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has edged closer to being fit for the start of the new Premier League season by returning to full training.
The former Chelsea forward has not played any part in the Reds' pre-season preparations due to an ankle injury that he suffered while competing for England in May.
The 23-year-old came through yesterday's open session at Anfield without any problems, but is expected to be ruled out of tomorrow's friendly against Valerenga in Norway.
Sturridge, who moved to Merseyside from London in January for a reported £12m, could take part in Liverpool's pre-season clash against Celtic on Saturday.
