Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has claimed that the Reds can "beat anyone" this season.
A bullish Sturridge said that the whole squad have bought into manager Brendan Rodgers's style of football, and he believes that they are more than capable of competing for the Premier League title.
He told reporters: "Listen, it's early in the season but we have got a confidence and belief in our squad.
"It doesn't matter what the opposition is. We have got a belief in the manager's philosophy and with the individuals we have and the way we play collectively, we can beat anyone.
"It doesn't matter who we play, it doesn't faze us. The manager has made some great signings and we are looking forward to having a successful season. We are hungry for success. Everyone is hungry for success here."
Sturridge has scored 36 goals in 50 appearances since his £12m move from Chelsea in January 2013.
