John Terry believes that Raheem Sterling has justified the £50m price-tag that Liverpool are holding out for.
Manchester City have reportedly had two bids turned down for the England international, but are expected to succeed with their third offer of £50m.
Chelsea captain Terry leapt to the defence of Sterling, who has fallen out of favour with Liverpool fans as he seeks a move away from the club.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Terry said: "I know Raheem has been taking a bit of stick recently, but I was extremely impressed by him and how good he was.
"There is a market for the English players. With the rules and regulations everyone needs them in their squad to qualify, that puts more on the price tag."
Terry was also referring to the £45m asking price that has been placed on Harry Kane.
