Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has claimed that Christian Benteke's confidence will keep growing following his match-winning goal in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Belgium international scored on the stroke of half time to help Liverpool seal a 2-1 win over Bordeaux at Anfield.
The result cemented Liverpool's place in the European competition's round of 32.
"Christian is a top player," Toure told the club's official website. "He was fantastic for Aston Villa and now he is coming into the team better and better.
"For a striker, you need goals. He scored one goal and that will be really important for him and his confidence will grow."
Benteke, who signed for the Reds in the summer, has scored five goals so far for Liverpool.
