Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has held his hands up for his costly error in Liverpool's 2-1 Europa League win over Bordeaux at Anfield on Thursday.
The Belgian conceded an indirect free kick on 33 minutes for holding on to the ball for over 20 seconds, well over the six permitted, before Henri Saivet fired home.
A James Milner penalty and a Christian Benteke volley before the break ultimately spared Mignolet's blushes, though the 27-year-old admits his gaffe.
"Unfortunately I waited just a bit too long and that can always happen," he told BT Sport.
"The main thing is we responded after that, we didn't let in affect our game and we came back even before half time which is a good thing."
The win saw Liverpool progress into the last 32 of the competition.
