Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Cody Gakpo is unlikely to make his debut in Monday's Premier League clash with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The PSV Eindhoven attacker will officially join the club on January 1 and was in attendance at Anfield as the Reds came from behind to beat Leicester City 2-1 on Friday night.
However, Klopp is not optimistic of the paperwork getting done in time for Monday's game, so the 23-year-old will likely have to wait for his debut as Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz remain out injured.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been given the nod for Liverpool's last two matches, but Fabio Carvalho should now take advantage of the quick turnaround to start alongside Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, although Roberto Firmino could also be back from a hamstring problem in a major attacking boost for Klopp.
Fabinho missed the Leicester win due to the birth of his child, but the Brazilian should now come back into the fold after Harvey Elliott picked up a knock on Friday, joining Arthur, Curtis Jones and James Milner in the infirmary.
Jones and Milner are not too far away from comebacks, though, and the fresh legs of Naby Keita may also be preferred to Jordan Henderson, as Thiago Alcantara holds his spot.
Andrew Robertson came off with a dead leg last time out and may now cede his place to Kostas Tsimikas, while a well-rested Ibrahima Konate could also come in for Joel Matip.
Trent Alexander-Arnold impressed defensively in the success over Leicester, and the right-back can expect to hold his place alongside Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.
