How Liverpool could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League showdown with Tottenham Hotspur, with a host of stars set to return.

Liverpool could topple another record on their march to what looks certain to be a first league title in 30 years when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London on Saturday.

A 29th victory from their last 30 Premier League outings would see Jurgen Klopp's side set a new benchmark for most points after 21 games of an English top-flight season, beating the record set by Manchester City's centurions two seasons ago.

The Reds take on an injury-ravaged Tottenham team too, although they will be wary of the familiar foe that is Jose Mourinho, who has spoiled more than one of their parties in the past.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for the contest.

Out: Naby Keita (groin), Fabinho (ankle), Nathaniel Clyne (knee), James Milner (muscle)
Doubtful: Dejan Lovren (thigh), Joel Matip (knee), Xherdan Shaqiri (hamstring)

Liverpool's memorable FA Cup derby win over Everton last weekend came at a cost when James Milner - one of few first-team players included - limped off after only nine minutes with a muscle injury.

The exact extent of the problem has not yet been divulged, although Klopp admitted after the match that he feared it might be "serious", suggesting that the veteran is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

There is better news when it comes to Xherdan Shaqiri and Joel Matip, however, with both players now back in training and potentially in contention for this match.

Dejan Lovren is a much bigger doubt as he continues to struggle with a thigh injury, while Naby Keita, Nathaniel Clyne and Fabinho remain sidelined, although the latter could be back in training in the near future.

Joe Gomez was the only man to start both of Liverpool's last two games and so Klopp will make a slew of changes from the side which beat Everton last time out, with all of the fit big-hitters set to return.

That includes newly-crowned African Player of the Year Sadio Mane and runner-up Mohamed Salah, while new signing Takumi Minamino could be in the squad after making his debut against Everton.
