Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
By | 1mo

Liverpool will look to continue their relentless march towards claiming the Premier League title when they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's men find themselves 13 points clear of closest challengers Leicester City and have a game in hand, with last week's 2-0 win over Sheffield United marking a calendar year since Liverpool last lost in the league.

However, they will be conscious of the threat carried by Jose Mourinho's Spurs, who will be desperate to produce a big performance following a string of poor results.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this fixture.

Dejan Lovren

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Lovren has been sidelined for a month with a thigh problem, and Klopp has stressed that the club would be patient with reintroducing him to the squad.

Fabinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Klopp will hope to see the defensive midfielder, who has been excellent this term, recover quickly from an ankle problem that ruled him out of the Christmas period.

Joel Matip

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Matip has been sidelined with a knee problem for almost two months, although Klopp indicated recently that the Cameroon international was nearing a return to action.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Much like Matip, Shaqiri has been sidelined over the Christmas period but has an outside chance of returning to the bench for the meeting with Spurs this weekend.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Keita has often struggled with groin issues since moving to Anfield, and his current affliction is certain to keep him out of this game, although he is not expected to be sidelined for long.

James Milner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Milner only lasted nine minutes of Liverpool's meeting with Everton over the weekend, with Klopp noting after the game that the veteran had sustained a "serious" muscle injury.

Nathaniel Clyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Clyne remains Liverpool's only long-term absentee having sustained ligament damage over pre-season. The player is not expected to return until March at the earliest.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no suspensions to worry about for this match.
