Project Restart: When and where could Liverpool win the title now?

Following the confirmation of the renewed Premier League fixture list, Sports Mole looks at when and where Liverpool could now win the title.

The next steps of the Premier League's 'Project Restart' have now been outlined, with times, dates and broadcast details for the first 32 fixtures back being released on Friday.

The first matches will take place on Wednesday, June 17 with the four teams currently boasting a game in hand playing those matches in order to get every club on a level pegging in terms of games played.

The first full weekend of action will then take place from Friday, June 19 to Monday, June 22, while other fixtures have also been confirmed up to and including July 2.

The most high-profile issue to solve in those three weeks is likely to be the Premier League title, with Liverpool six points away from being crowned champions of England for the first time in 30 years.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at when and where Jurgen Klopp's side could wrap up the league with the new fixture list.

SUNDAY, JUNE 21

The earliest Liverpool could now win the title is Sunday, June 21 in a Merseyside derby against Everton, although they would need a favour from Arsenal for that to be the case.

Should the Gunners beat defending champions Manchester City on Wednesday, June 17 then victory for Liverpool in the derby would secure the title.

If Man City avoid defeat to Arsenal then Liverpool will have to wait longer. This match was originally scheduled to take place at Goodison Park, but now could be played at a neutral venue.

MONDAY, JUNE 22

If Liverpool are forced to wait longer than Sunday then their coronation could come just one day later, when Man City host Burnley.

Providing Liverpool beat Everton and Man City avoid a loss against Arsenal, defeat for Pep Guardiola's side against the Clarets would hand the Reds the title.

Wednesday, June 24

If both Liverpool and Man City have a 100% record up to June 24 then Liverpool could be crowned champions with victory over Crystal Palace on a Wednesday night.

Liverpool only need two more wins to officially wrap things up, so if they beat Everton then Man City are powerless to prevent them from winning the title against the Eagles.

This match could also be played at a neutral venue, although Merseyside police have given the green light for it to be held at Anfield as scheduled even if Liverpool can win the title.

Thursday, July 2

Due to the FA Cup quarter-finals taking place on the weekend of June 27, Liverpool's next match after June 24 will be against Man City on July 2.

In the unlikely event that both Liverpool and Man City lose all of their games up to this point then victory 'away' to the defending champions will give them the six-point swing they need.

If Liverpool only win one of their matches against Everton and Palace and Man City beat Arsenal and Burnley then this fixture could also be the title decider.

As with the others, this has been earmarked as a potential game to be played at a neutral venue.
