AC Milan are reportedly preparing to rival Liverpool for the signature of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
The Reds are yet to properly replace Georginio Wijnaldum since the Dutchman's summer departure and have long been linked with a swoop for Sanches.
The 24-year-old endured a forgettable loan spell at Swansea City before reigniting his career at Lille, although he has been frustrated by injury problems this term.
With AC Milan looking increasingly likely to lose Franck Kessie on a free transfer next term, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri have identified Sanches as an ideal signing.
The report adds that Milan would be willing to fork out Sanches's yearly salary demands of €5.5m (£4.7m), but Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keeping tabs on his situation.
Sanches has scored five goals and set up six more in 67 games for Lille, but his contract with the Ligue 1 champions is due to expire in 2023. body check tags ::
