Barcelona have placed a £20m price tag on goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen amid rumours of interest from Liverpool.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be mulling a move for the German this month following the shaky form of Simon Mignolet and Adam Bogdan between the sticks, although he is only prepared to pay £12m.
Ter Stegen joined the Spanish champions for £10m from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014 and has a buyout clause of £64m, but currently finds himself second in the pecking order at Camp Nou behind Claudio Bravo.
The 23-year-old failed to make a La Liga appearance in his debut season and was instead restricted to just the Champions League and Copa del Rey, although he has featured four times in the league so far this term.
According to The Mirror, Ter Stegen is interested in a switch to the Premier League but "would want assurances that he will be given the chance to establish himself as No.1 at Anfield".
Liverpool are currently eighth in the Premier League, five points off the top four.
