Lille midfielder Renato Sanches has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Barcelona.

Sanches has re-established himself as one of European football's most promising midfielders over the past 12 months, helping Lille win the Ligue 1 title and making a positive impression with Portugal at Euro 2020.

While the French champions would prefer to retain the services of the 23-year-old, the division's ongoing financial issues have allegedly resulted in interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

According to Le 10 Sport, Barcelona are considering whether to rival the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for the player's signature.

The Catalan giants have financial problems of their own, but may be able to offer at least one player in part-exchange to facilitate a deal.

Sanches is unlikely to extend his current Lille contract, which is due to expire at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
