Barcelona and Liverpool are reportedly set to battle it out for the signature of Sevilla's Diego Carlos.
The 27-year-old has played a key role in the heart of the Sevilla defence this season, making 31 appearances for the Spanish outfit across all competitions.
According to reports in Spain, Barca manager Quique Setien is keen to shore up his defence and allegedly believes that Carlos possesses the necessary defensive qualities to improve his side.
Should Carlos make the switch to Camp Nou, Samuel Umtiti would supposedly be left out of Setien's future plans, and La Blaugrana are said to have already received offers for the Frenchman.
The report also claims that Jurgen Klopp's side are eyeing up a move for the defender, who has netted twice for Julen Lopetegui's side this season.
Carlos made 104 appearances for Ligue 1 side Nantes before moving to Seville last summer.
