Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly made an approach to sign Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan.
The pair worked together during Rodgers's spell at Anfield, while Flanagan has made just eight appearances during the past two years due to injury.
Rodgers is keen to secure a loan deal for the 23-year-old but according to the Scottish Sun, Liverpool would only consider parting ways with the full-back if a permanent transfer could be negotiated.
Flanagan is still considered to be part of Jurgen Klopp's plans on Merseyside but the defender faces playing second fiddle to Nathaniel Clyne if he remains at the club for the upcoming campaign.
