Philippe Coutinho's agents have reportedly held talks with Real Madrid amid rumours that the Brazilian could leave Liverpool in the summer.
The 23-year-old has emerged as Liverpool's star player following the recent departures of Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard.
However, there are rumblings that the playmaker is wanted by both La Liga giants Barcelona and their rivals Madrid.
According to Sport, Coutinho's representatives have spoken to officials at the Bernabeu, but it is believed that the player would prefer a switch to Barcelona and is prepared to leave Anfield if the Catalan side come in with an offer.
Coutinho, who joined the Reds from Inter Milan in 2013, signed a new five-year deal at Liverpool in February.
The Premier League outfit are currently without a manager after sacking Brendan Rodgers on Sunday, but Jurgen Klopp is widely expected to be appointed by the end of the week.
