Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has claimed that he is "moderately optimistic" of keeping Loic Remy.
The France international striker was on the verge of a £8.5m move to Liverpool before the Anfield club pulled the plug on the deal, claiming that the forward had failed his medical.
Fernandes told talkSPORT: "Nothing is ever cast in stone in football, but I am moderately optimistic Remy will be wearing the Hoops' shirt throughout this season.
"I have a special relationship with Remy from playing FIFA with him and I hope to continue playing FIFA 15 with him throughout the season!"
Newcastle United are reportedly showing an interest in Remy.
