Fulham and Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi.
The 25-year-old has caught the attention of several European clubs since joining Union from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in 2022.
Doekhi featured in 25 Bundesliga matches in his first season with Union, helping the club achieve Champions League qualification for the first time in their history.
Although Union have experienced a tumultuous 2023-24 campaign, Doekhi has continued to be a regular fixture when available, having started all 18 of his Bundesliga appearances this season.
Despite being a key part of Union's backline, the centre-back is being linked with a move away from the German capital.
According to Football Insider, Fulham and Palace are among the clubs showing an interest in Doekhi ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the Premier League duo are considering whether to move for Doekhi, who could be available for a cut-price deal.
Doekhi is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract and it appears unlikely that he will sign a renewal with the Bundesliga side.
In addition to the two London sides, Italian giants Roma have recently been linked with a potential move for the Dutch defender.
Premier League duo looking for defensive reinforcement
Fulham have seemingly identified Doekhi as a potential replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Although the Cottagers are keen to extend Adarabioyo's stay, he is said to be attracting interest from AC Milan, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Fellow London club West Ham United are also believed to be in the mix, leaving Fulham to draw up contingency plans in case Adarabioyo decides against extending his stay at Craven Cottage.
Meanwhile, Palace are expected to sign a new centre-back this summer, especially with speculation surrounding Marc Guehi's and Joachim Andersen's long-term futures.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner will be aware of Doekhi's qualities, having previously faced the Dutchman during his time as Eintracht Frankfurt boss. body check tags ::
