Emile Heskey has tipped former club Liverpool to target RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is understood to have made the Germany international his number one target for when the transfer window reopens, although the European champions could face competition from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 24-year-old has a £52m release clause in his contract at Leipzig, and Heskey believes that he is exactly the type of player Klopp will be keen to "get his teeth stuck into".
"Timo Werner is a young player who has done phenomenally well. When you're bringing in young players, you want ones that are tried and tested, who know what it takes to perform at the top level," Heskey told Genting Bet.
"Those players are always going to be an asset. Werner looks phenomenal – his pace looks great. Klopp obviously knows a lot about the German league as well, so I'm sure he'll be keen to get his teeth stuck into him."
Werner has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season, scoring 27 goals and assisting 12 more in 36 appearances.
