Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: 'New signings aren't imperative'

Jurgen Klopp says that Liverpool are still looking to be active in the transfer market, although he insists he wouldn't be disappointed if the club don't make any signings.

Jurgen Klopp has suggested that he would be content with his Liverpool squad if the club failed to make any new signings.

Despite winning the Champions League last month, it has been claimed that Liverpool will look to strengthen ahead of the new campaign.

However, while Klopp has acknowledged that the club are still active in the transfer market, the German has insisted that he would have no issues with heading into the season with his current group of players.

Klopp told the Liverpool Echo: "We are still looking, but it will not be the [biggest] transfer window of LFC. It just will be a transfer window.

"We will see what we do, and if we haven't done anything by the end it will be for different reasons. It's about using this team. In the transfer window, you have to build a team that you think you want to go into the season with. But I have that team already.

"If we can bring somebody else in that makes it even better, we will see. But if not, this team is already there. And again we will have to find solutions at different moments."

Liverpool have, so far, only added Dutch youngster Sepp van den Berg since the end of the last campaign.
